There are many artists out there in the world and they all have different styles and topics they cover. Some are bright and cheery, while some, like Ben Chen, are a little bit more dark and twisted. Filled with sarcasm and obscure topics.

Ben creates pop-culture illustrations with lots of loved and well-known characters, he has been featured on Bored Panda before. The artist’s work always tells a story. He puts a dark twist on the artwork he creates and almost all of them have humor in them. Some have sarcastic themes, or messages about our society and its issues. Ben creates very simple but detailed pictures. You can understand the idea behind the illustration immediately. The artist uses colors, shapes, and patterns to point out what’s important in the picture. Ben likes to use silicates to create an illusion effect. He also creates surreal pictures, like an astronaut battling the constellation of Taurus. The artist also takes classic paintings and statues to give them a little twist.

Ben has a specific sense of humor. He often takes popular characters from TV shows or movies and puts them in a funny scenario. Like the [gassiness] little mermaid, or Bruce Banner hulking out while sleeping and breaking his bed. The artist puts a sarcastic twist on his illustrations, often commenting on our society and the world we live in, from political ideas to ecological problems.
