Recently, one interesting correlation was found by the mighty internet researchers. One Twitter user tweeted that “there are angry ladies all over Yankee Candle’s site reporting that none of the candles they just got had any smell at all.” Soon enough, Kate Petrova—a research assistant in the Harvard Study of Adult Development—further explored this correlation that showed fascinating results. One known side effect of the Covid-19 virus is the loss of smell and taste. As it turns out, since the pandemic broke out, there has been a noticeable increase in the number of negative reviews of scented candles, with the majority complaining they can’t smell the candles at all.
