An old man had two daughters. One married a gardener, and the other a brick maker. After a time, he went to the daughter and the gardener, and asked how they were. She said, “All things are going well and I have only one wish. That is, there maybe a heavy fall of rain.” Not long after, he went to the daughter and the brick maker, and asked how they were. She replied, “I want nothing, and have one only wish, that the dry weather may continue, and the sun shine hot and bright. so that the bricks may be dried.”
He said to her, “If your sister wishes for rain, and you for dry weather, with which of two shall I join my wishes?” The old man looked worried all his face after going home. His neighbor knew it and said, “Why do you worry about them? You can think of your daughter and gardener when it rains and your daughter and brick-maker when it shines.” Indeed the old man became happy everyday after hearing what the neighbor said.
The way you see life will largely determine what you get out of it.
