Bezos’ wedding has seen an immense level of security, even by celebrity wedding standards. Reports indicated that former US Marines have been hired to provide protection throughout the celebration, according to the Daily Mail.
Local police increased patrols in the area, and divers were seen sweeping Venice’s canals ahead of the ceremony. Ivanka, who receives Secret Service protection, is believed to be among the event’s most closely guarded attendees.
Meanwhile, Bezos and Sanchez were spotted sharing a kiss as they boarded a water taxi ahead of the big day. The bride wore a fitted corset dress, while Bezos kept it classic with a white shirt, black suit, and sunglasses.

On Monday, Greenpeace and other activist groups staged a protest in Venice’s St. Mark’s Square. The group unveiled a giant banner featuring Bezos’ face and the message, “If you can rent Venice for your wedding, then you can pay more tax.”
Members of the British activist group Everyone Hates Elon also took part in the protests. According to the group, they are protesting Bezos’ nuptials to highlight the “environmental and social injustice of the wedding.”
“Bezos encapsulates an economic and social model which is steering us towards collapse,” one of the group’s members stated.

“All too often now social injustice travels on an equal par with the climate, on one side the arrogance of a few billionaires who have a lifestyle that devastates the planet, the other people who suffer daily from the environment crisis,” a protester noted.
While Jeff Bezos has not publicly responded to the demonstrations, the couple’s decision to relocate part of their wedding celebration is speculated to be a reaction to the protests.

Despite the backlash, Ivanka has continued sharing updates from Venice throughout the week.
In another post, she uploaded scenic photos from her family’s water taxi ride, captioning them “Da Venezia, con amore,” which means “From Venice, with love.”
Sources close to the event stated that other Trump family members may be among Bezos’ 200 invited guests, although this has not been confirmed.

Around 60 of Venice’s water taxis were reportedly reserved for the celebration, and some of the city’s 400 gondolas were temporarily out of commission as well.
