Houseplants not only look good and brighten up interiors, but they are also good for your health. The facts, backed up by scientists, of course, speak for themselves. A study done by NASA more than a decade ago revealed that houseplants can contribute to removing up to 87% of air toxins in just 24 hours. Other studies have shown that plants can reduce stress levels and boost your mood.
Naturally, not everyone has a green thumb, but for those who’ve no experience in taking care of plants, cacti and succulents are a good place to start. However, this beautiful, tropical plant is not as high-maintenance as it looks!

This beautiful plant is part of the bromeliad family, native to tropical locations, but also thriving indoors. All you’ll need is to find a sunny spot for it, as it needs approximately 6 hours of sunlight each day. Also, it needs watering once a week, unless the soil does not hold water well. In that case, you’d need to water the pineapple twice a week.
It’s from Pure Beauty Farms, a Miami-based company

Many people are keeping this gorgeous guy inside during the cold months and moving it outside as soon as it gets warmer out, although it may be necessary to water more the pineapple more frequently while it’s there, especially if it’s flowering or bearing fruit.
The plant is available at Home Depot for $29.98

The pineapple has spiny green leaves and the actual small fruit sprouts on the large center stem. However, the product description says it’s not to be snacked on—its purpose is solely decorative.
And it comes in a 5-inch designer pot

Unfortunately, at the moment, Home Depot is out of stock of these plants. So head on to their page to refresh it and check for updates.
