Vishwash Kumar Ramesh’s miraculous ability to walk away from the Air India Flight 171 disaster on June 12 has not gone without question.
In fact, one of the loudest challenges came from the known voice of Bollywood star Suchitra Krishnamoorthi when she questioned the survivor’s account of his ordeal and called for him to be punished.
Krishnamoorthi’s calloused approach, in turn, received harsh criticism from netizens forcing her to walk back her statement.
The Bollywood star accused the sole survivor of lying

The offending post appeared on X six days after the aviation disaster on June 19.
Krishnamoorthi wrote: “So this #vishwaskumarramesh lied about being a passenger on the plane & the only survivor?
“This is seriously weird. Didn’t his family in the UK corroborate his story? What about his brother’s funeral that he was seen giving kandha to?” she said, referring to the Sikh practice of paying a floral tribute at a funeral.

“[He] deserves not only some serious punishment but some mental asylum time if this is true.”
Krishnamoorthi blamed AI for misinformation
Social media revolted and Krishnamoorthi removed the post.

A serial tweeter, she updated her status with the message: “Took out my last tweet on the Air India crash survivor. Seems to be false news circulating for God knows what reason. My apologies.”
On June 20, she apologised for her indiscretion again, saying:
“My tweet on the Air India crash survivor was from an insta post on an ex times of india journalist. So I assumed it [was] true.

“My mistake. I should] have verified it before tweeting. I sincerely apologize for this.
“These are sensitive times,” she explained. “And with so much AI and misinformation floating around one never knows what to believe.”
Angry netizens suggested that she, instead, receive regular psychiatrist evaluations to keep her in touch with reality

Netizens have since weighed in on the star’s faux pas and they are unforgiving. In response to her repeated apologies one user wrote:
“Apologize all you want the damage has been done, your reputation for diligence is irreparable. We suggest that all celebrity/ wannabe internet sensation do their due diligence,” another fired back.
“Also a visit to a psychiatrist for evaluation would be helpful to keep your types grounded to reality,” they said, as a stab at her recommendation that Ramesh be institutionalized.
Ramesh was the only passenger to survive the crash

This development comes just over a week after the Boeing 777 Dreamliner crashed into buildings in Ahmedabad minutes after takeoff.
None of the 242 passengers and crew survived and speculation has been rife about what could have caused it.
Ramesh was unable to give much helpful information to the authorities saying only that he heard a loud noise in the cabin.

He was traveling back to the United Kingdom with his brother Ajay where a wife and child awaited him. In his account of his personal experiences, he stated that he at some point closed his eyes.
When he reopened them and realized he was alive, he kicked the door near where he was seated on 11A, aside, and climbed out of the plane. He was later found walking on the road and rushed to hospital.
Thus far, the favored theory is that both engines failed, a rare occurrence in aviation

This idea is being enforced by the sighting of the small propeller named the Ram Air Turbine (RAT), folding out of the doomed passenger jet’s undercarriage during takeoff.
The RAT is a backup power generator that engages automatically when an aircraft’s engines stop providing power for critical aircraft functions.
The onboard cockpit recorders, known as the “black boxes” were recovered and are being examined by aviation officials.
Air India has since trimmed its flight schedules amidst the ongoing investigation

Meanwhile, the doomed Boeing 787’s operator, Air India announced on June 18 that it was cutting its international flights by 15%.
It cited geopolitical “tensions in the Middle East, night curfew in the airspaces of many countries in Europe and East Asia, the ongoing enhanced safety inspections, and also the necessary cautious approach being taken by the engineering staff and Air India pilots,” as motive for its curtailment.
The internet thinks the Bollywood star is pathetic.
