Working from home has its own perks. For instance, you get to spend more time with your pet, who may be too overly excited to respect your working hours and personal space. That’s exactly what happened to Indiana meteorologist Jeff Lyons. Despite so many of us staying at home, it’s still good to know what’s in the forecasts. So weather-forecasters are continuing their work fro home. However, Lyons drew people’s attention not only for his forecasts but also for allowing his cat, Betty, to be on broadcasts.

To adhere to the social distancing rules, Jeff Lyons set up his new studio in his dining room. Only then he realized that his adorable cat is an aspiring weather forecaster herself, who kept insisting on being part of the show. Turns out that people love her presence!

Ever since she made her debut on the show at the beginning of April more and more people started to watch Lyons’ broadcasts.

Some viewers even come from Europe adn Australia, so it’s clear that it’s not the weather forecasts they are interested in.

To honor his beloved cat, the weatherman decided to give her own lower third graphic that says “Betty the weather cat.”

The idea to bring her on the show came to Lyons coworkers, who saw her in a behind-the-scenes video. Now, Betty has gained Lyons thousands of views and likes on his Facebook page.
