The “Impossible” Ford V-8 Motor

Spread the love

When Henry Ford decided to produce his famous V-8 motor, he choose to build an engine with the entire eight cylinders cast in one block, and his engineers produced a design for the engine. The engine was drawn, but the engineers agreed that it was simply impossible to cast and eight-cylinder engine-block in one piece.

Ford said, “Produce it anyway.”

“But,” They replied, “it’s impossible”

“Do it,” Ford ordered, “and stay on the job until you succeed no matter what.”

Since they had no choice, the engineers went ahead. Six months went by, nothing happened. The engineers tried everything conceivable plan to carry out the orders, but the thing seem impossible.

At the end of the year Ford saw that his engineers had accomplished nothing.

“Keep going,” said Ford. “I want it, I’ll have it.”

They went ahead. Then, as if by a stroke of magic, they discovered the secret.

The man who has made up his mind to win will never say “impossible”.
