I consider my cat to be a little genius (sometimes an evil genius), but he hasn’t yet mastered the art of using the internet. I run his Instagram account for him, and I always have to correct the spelling and grammar in messages he types while walking across my keyboard.
But if he could use the internet just like the rest of us, I think he would be a huge fan of memes. And until I can start sending him some, I’ll be compiling a list from the “Memes I Wish I Could Tag My Cat In” Facebook group. We’ve taken a trip to this online community and gathered some of their most adorable and hilarious posts below, pandas. So enjoy scrolling through, and be sure to upvote the pics that your furry friends would appreciate!

If you’re a cat owner, you know all too well how hilarious your kitty’s behavior can be. Cats can be graceful acrobats one moment and clumsy sleepyheads the next. They can be adorable cuddle bugs during the night and dangerous predators while watching birds through the window. And although they’ll never know about the group, the Memes I Wish I Could Tag My Cat In community is all about celebrating these special little creatures.
This Facebook group, which has amassed an impressive 1.5 million members, has a simple mission: “Post memes you wish you could tag your cat in.” And clearly, there are plenty of funny pics out there that people want to share with their furry friends, as there have been 238 new posts in the group today! We’re also big fans of this community here at Bored Panda, so it isn’t the first time we’ve featured a selection of their best memes. So whether you’re a cat parent or not, we hope you get a kick out of these adorable photos!

If you have cats of your own, you probably don’t need anyone to tell you why they’re such beloved animals. Just look at their little faces! Touch their soft, silky fur! And experience the warmth of a precious little angel curled up like a croissant in your lap. But if you don’t understand the appeal of having a little kitty running around your home, Medical News Today has explored this topic.
One of the reasons why we might have such an affinity for felines is because our bond with them began thousands of years ago. Ancient Egyptians believed that their cats “embodied divine energy,” and they were domesticated long ago to help humans keep pests away. Since then, it appears that people just couldn’t resist how adorable they are.

Another possible reason why many people love cats is because of their “somewhat unpredictable responses,” Dr. Patricia Pendry of Washington State University says. She proposes that, because cats aren’t affectionate with everyone, we often feel special when a kitty does choose to cuddle up to us. I certainly feel this way when my cat chooses to take a nap in my lap or lay on my back while I’m sleeping. This is also how many of us excuse their less-than-friendly behavior. If we know that cuddles will come later, we might not mind the occasional bite or scratch or broken vase that’s been knocked over by the family cat.

Cats are also undeniably adorable. Even if you’re more of a dog person, you have to admit that a sleepy, relaxed kitten can melt your heart. And Medical News Today notes that many of the features we find so precious in cats are similar to those of human babies. Huge eyes, playful behavior and simply being tiny tugs on our heartstrings! In fact, you might consider kittens to be even more adorable than human babies.

It’s unfortunate that cats can’t speak the same languages as humans, because I would love to know what my little guy is thinking. But we can learn how to read their behavior over time, which can make us fall even more in love with them! For example, cats often head-bump against objects and us to mark their territory and leave pheromones. But this also provides them with information about the object or person they’re bunting against. If you’ve been around other animals, your cat will certainly be able to tell.

Another adorable behavior that humans like to observe in cats is purring. While this might mean that a cat is relaxed and at peace, it can also mean that they’re stressed and attempting to calm themselves down. In fact, purring might even have healing properties! Humans still aren’t 100% sure how kitties manage to make this sound, but one thing we do know is that it’s incredibly cute.

When it comes to why over a billion people worldwide have cats, HelpGuide notes that there can be many benefits to having a feline friend (or several!) at home. Kitties have been known to lower stress and anxiety levels in their owners, and they can even reduce their owner’s risk of developing heart disease or having a stroke. And if children are exposed to cats when they’re young, they’ll be less likely to develop an allergy to them in the future!

Plus, there’s no doubt that having a cat around can reduce feelings of loneliness. They’re precious little companions who can provide you with joy, someone to talk to and unconditional love. When you have a kitty around, you’ll always have someone to take care of and someone waiting for you when you get home. My little guy loafs by the door when he knows I’m about to get home from work, and if he isn’t by the door when I arrive, he comes running to get his pets as soon as I enter the apartment. He makes coming home feel so special!
