80 Times “Regular” People Met Celebrities And Were Let Down In The Worst Ways

Spread the love

Many people think of celebrities as these quasi-perfect hoomans with big fortunes and equally big hearts. And think of thousands of fans who’d do anything for Oprah’s autograph or a picture with Zendaya; of course, they expect the A-listers to be friendly and nice individuals.

But according to this Reddit thread, this is not always the case. Someone asked people on Ask Reddit “Who is the rudest celebrity you’ve ever met?”, and they delivered a bunch of interesting stories. And oh boy, we didn’t see that coming!

Get prepared to be let down after reading people’s encounters with rude and entitled famous people and don’t forget to take them with a pinch of salt. We can’t guarantee these are facts or fiction, but hey, who knows?!

My wife worked at a hotel for many years and met literally every major celebrity you can think of. She said Snoop was the coolest person she ever met and Bill Clinton was the biggest douche even though I find it hilarious. My wife was walking outside back into the hotel, saw Bill and stared until she smashed herself in the face with a tree branch. Bill started laughing so hard he was having a hard time standing. The secret service ran over to help her and Bill, laughing so hard he could barely talk, told them to leave her because they had to keep walking.

Amazingly hilarious.

I haven’t met many but Lenny Kravitz stayed at the hotel I worked at. He had the hotel sign an agreement that the staff were not to look at him or talk to him.

Snoop dog was cool. He left a bunch of booze and weed behind in his suite. The house keepers got a bunch of top shelf hootch and weed after he left.

I worked with Gwyneth Paltrow’s children for eight weeks at a camp, and we got paid $5 an hour. Parents usually tip $100 or more at the end, but she didn’t tip at all.

#4

Oprah didn’t tip me on a $200 lunch — instead, she signed a napkin for me and acted like she was doing me a huge favor. The kicker was when she walked in, they gave away all of my other tables so she didn’t have to wait for anything. So I made $4/hour for two hours for the privilege of serving Oprah, and she went on and on about signing a napkin that I never asked for.

Ellen Degeneres is a bona fide b*tch. Incredibly rude, my Uncle worked with her(he’s an architect) on some project and she treated her help like total cr*p. I couldn’t believe it at the time, but I’ve heard similar accounts of her bad behavior over the years.

My dad is a pilot and he frequently deals with celebrities. His company has all the staff sign NDAs, but my dad usually doesn’t even know who the celebrities are unless they’ve been in the news. He said that Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban are incredibly rude to their own staff. Personal assistants were terrified of them.

Madonna! She comes to my job few times a year. And every time she comes she’s comes with 5-7 other people wearing a big hat, sunglasses and tries to blend within her friends or whoever they are. The people she travels with are so needy and always have some sort of special request to ask for. No thanks no nothing when they leave no tip and also leave a big mess. Can’t stand them. No hi and no bye. I’m like bye b*tch.

Besides that a lot of the other celebrities are nice!

Tyra banks.

This takes place when UPN and WB were merging into “The CW”.

She comes into town for an ANTM cattle call. Demands we repaint the office she was going to use (for three days) makes our pregnant programming director cry, flips her shot and tries to get me fired when I wouldn’t get her a bottled water.

My response was “have one of your people get it, I have to get back to the board, commercial break is up in 40 seconds.”

Opposite side, Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis are two of the nicest celebrities I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting.

We had just gotten “that 70’s show” in syndication and they came out for promo shoots. Super friendly.

William Shatner said he would give me an autograph in Hawaii when I was about 10 . He said ‘lemme get a pen’, got in his limo and drove off.

Eminem. I was in Denver once and I was waiting for an autograph with my little brother. It was a really cold and we waited for like 3 or 4 hours. He just said no.

I’ve worked with Nicki Minaj before and while on a set with her, I was told not to look at her face. She also had people move out of the room before she would come in the room. It was a whole ordeal.

My daughter was at a store in orlando and ran into LeBron James when he was with the Heat. 13 yo girl asked for a pic and he got pissy, told her she wasn’t worthy of a picture with him, did she even know who he was, he didn’t have time for this. Walked away leaving her crying so bought her an ice cream.

I met Ed Westwick from Gossip Girl at Coachella. I never watched the show, but I recognized him — he grabbed my slice of pizza, took a bite out of it, and then spit it out and gave it back to me.

#14

Randy Jackson. He was invited to a telethon hosted by a hospital for children with severe disabilities, where my little sister lived until she passed away. Whenever the cameras were off, he would hide in his hotel room and seemed disgusted with the kids. Didn’t want anything to do with them. When the cameras were on though, he was all smiles and hugs. It was so disheartening and disappointed. Almost 10 years ago and I still remember it so clearly.

I’ve worked as a maintenance worker at a concert venue for a few summers and have bumped into several celebrities, but Carrie Underwood is the one who sticks out because of how demanding she always was. She refused to use a toilet if someone else had sat on the seat before her — cleaning them was never good enough, so we had to buy new toilet seats every time she came. Considering how much we already had to fix, the last thing we wanted to do was pointlessly replace perfectly good toilet seats. In contrast, Reba McEntire would always eat lunch with the staff and was always super chill.

Samuel Jackson. Was walking around NYC around 17 or 18 and who do I see in the corner of my eye, but Mace Windu himself Kango hat and all. I was nervous about going up to him but I proceed to watch a young woman go up to him, show him her head shot, and take a picture with him. After he does this I have the confidence to strike so I stroll up and ask “Are you Samuel Jackson?” and he is like “Nah” so I proceed to ask “Are you sure? Im pretty sure you are Samuel Jackson” and he says “Nah you got me confused with someone else” and walks away. I was a massive fan before and now I will always associate him with that memory.

#17

Tim Allen. I worked at an Apple Store that he frequented. We all scattered when we saw him come. No one wanted to help him. We’d spend an enormous amount of time assisting him at the Genius Bar only to have him threaten us with calling Steve Jobs. One of the nicest celebs to come in the store was Robert Morse. Love him.

#18

Pierce Brosnan. Saw him loading his car up at a farmer’s market in Santa Monica. Walked up to him and told him I was a big fan. I didn’t ask for a picture or anything. He got into his car and as he was backing up he told me to f*ck right off. Maybe I was in the wrong for walking up to him, I was just excited.

EASILY John Mayer and it’s not even close.
If you’ve ever thought John Mayer was cool, know this;
John Mayer is a whiney man-child that just wants to smoke weed and watch South Park and play Call of Duty all day. Met him at an awards show thing about 10 years ago. WOULD NOT STOP quoting some sexist joke from South Park. Everybody around was just laughing awkwardly because it was weird. Also every word out of his mouth was a sarcastic joke, but like a MEAN sarcastic joke about somebody that I was supposed to find funny. But they weren’t funny. They were just weird. And mean. Got mad at me and called me a butthead when I didn’t laugh.

When I was about 7 years old in the ’70s, I was at the airport with my mom and her boyfriend and a friend of mine — my mom’s boyfriend told us that Evel Knievel was in one of the lounges. He was sitting in a back corner, drinking a glass of some kind of booze, and engulfed in a cloud of cigarette smoke.

My friend and I approached him excitedly, and after he autographed some napkins, he looked at us and said, ‘Before I give you these, I’m going to teach you something.’ My friend and I looked at each other totally starstruck, and grinned like idiots. Evel proceeded to tap both of us on the arm and asked, ‘Does that hurt?’ and we both shook our heads no — then he poked us lightly on the chest and asked, ‘Does that hurt?’ and again, we both said no. Then he made fists out of both of his hands with the middle knuckles sticking out, and brought them down sharply and simultaneously onto both of our heads. ‘Does that hurt?’ he asked, and neither of us could answer — I was holding back tears from the pain. He waited a few seconds and said, ‘That’s why you wear a safety helmet,’ and then handed us the napkins.

I met a lot of celebrities while working for an airline, one of them being Hugh Grant. One time, he sat in First Class 1A on a 747 (which is right in the nose of the plane), so there was nothing but a wall in front of the seat. It’s standard procedure for the cabin manager to go around to every first-class passenger and personally introduce themselves. When my manager got to Hugh, the conversation went something like this: Manager: ‘Hello, Mr. Grant, my name is…’ Hugh: ‘Oh, F*CK OFF.’ My manager proceeded to swiftly move on.

I’m from Vancouver, Canada (big film industry town), and a close family member of mine has worked in film here for 20 years, so I have too many stories to list. How about some rude ones, and some nice ones.

Gerard Butler. Around nine years ago he insistently pursued a friend of mine at a club/lounge. She wasn’t interested and told him so. Instead of respecting her wishes, he approached us, her friends, and attempted to get her number from us without her knowing. He would not respect her boundaries, or respect that no means no.

Dedee Pfeiffer (Michelle Pfeiffer’s sister) attempted to have my female family member (crew member) fired from the movie of the week they were working on because Dedee was threatened by my family member’s appearance. This is not hyperbole. A producer told my family member “She’s threatened by you because you’re a petite blonde, like her, and you’re outgoing and popular with the other crew members”. My family member wasn’t fired; Dedee was presumably told to cool her jets and focus on her job. Dedee Pfeiffer’s ego really is, apparently, that delicate that she can’t handle another woman around her having any kind of positive attention. Later on in the shoot Dedee was purging in a set toilet (she is bulimic) and her gag reflex wouldn’t stop gagging, so she passed out and an ambulance was called.

David Duchovny circa X-Files. Frequent hissy fits on set, flipping garbage cans over, etc. Probably contributed 90% of Vancouver’s stripper and escort income during the show’s run.

John Travolta. Kind, professional man on set. Arrested while here filming Look Who’s Talking in Stanley Park for soliciting sex from an undercover male VPD officer and discretely bailed out of jail at 2am by a producer.

#24

John F*cking Cena.

Mr. “I always play a military role” himself was so rude to me in the Dallas airport. When I was in the military, I was coming home from pre-deployment training, and went up to him after he sat down. I said something to the effect of, “Hey, I don’t mean to bother you. I’m not looking for a picture or autograph or anything; I just want to thank you for all the support you give to us troops. We really do appreciate it,” and extended my hand. After a minute, he finally looked up from the game he was playing on his iPad, looked at my hand, looked at my face, and just had the most disgusted expression ever. Like I was a leper asking him to bless me. He reluctantly shook my hand, and went back to his iPad. Didn’t say a single word.

I was mind f*cked by that. Literally could not believe how rude he was to me. He puts on a good show for the cameras, but he proved to me that day that he couldn’t give a sh*t less about ACTUAL military members.

ETA: We were at the same gate, and had an hour or so wait time before our flight left, so I didn’t catch him at a bad time or when he was in a hurry. Literally just sitting at the gate at the airport.

#25

My brother met Gene Simmons backstage at a show he was playing in. Gene complimented my brother highly on his guitar playing, but then said, ‘Too bad you’ll never make it’ and just walked away.

#26

Sylvester Stallone and James Cameron.

If I ever saw either of them drowning, I would throw rocks at them.

Vile. The both of them.

(Ya. Worked with both)

#27

Sean Penn. F*cking douche at the movie theater I worked at.

On the other side of that are Robin Williams and Lars Ulrich. Two of the nicest, most genuine dudes I ever slang popcorn to.

#28

John Cusack drove me insane. He stayed at the hotel where I worked and would call every five minutes after he asked for something to “politely” ask what was taking so long. It took more than five minutes to get from the ground floor to his room, let alone prepare a snack ordered off-menu with ingredients that were already put away because it’s 11PM and you’re ordering goddamn breakfast, John.

I have dealt with royalty that is less demanding.

That said, Taye Diggs is amazing. He can live here for all I care and I honestly would like him to come back sometime. And Princess Nisreen El-Hashemite is, like, one of the most wonderful people I’ve ever met. Also, she’s a superhero in the making, judging from her backstory.

#29

I met Patrick Stewart backstage at a comic book convention when I used to work for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The child and their family had requested to meet Stan Lee, and it was quite the scene when Stan was ever so gracious to this family (he was THE BEST). The other celebrities backstage joined in on the scene and took multiple pictures with the family — I asked Patrick Stewart if he’d mind taking a picture with them as well, and he said, ‘Yes, I DO mind’ and walked off. I haven’t watched Star Trek: The Next Generation or any X-Men movies he’s been in since then.

#30

I met Eliza Dushku in 2014 at a sci-fi convention where I gave her a necklace. I had previously had a few tiny interactions with her on Twitter, and months after I met her, she started private messaging me from an anonymous account (she chatted with me over Skype video so she made sure I knew it was her). We talked partially about how she was an inspiration for me in my addiction recovery, as she’s also in recovery.

One day she decided to browse my other social media accounts, and when she found out I had relapsed, she proceeded to block me on all social media platforms and claimed she had no idea what I was talking about (re: her anonymous account). Over a year later, a friend of mine sent me a video of a guest appearance Eliza did on some cooking show where at the end of the segment, she gifted the host the *exact* necklace I bought and gifted her at the sci-fi con in 2014 (the same gift box and everything).

#31

I worked at a publicity firm in Philadelphia while Tyler Perry was on a national press tour promoting Boo! A Madea Halloween in 2016. He flew in private with a 13-person staff, including personal chefs, assistants, trainers, manicurists, and dietitians. His team sat in the back of the plane while he sat alone in the front — he was then privately escorted from the airport while his team handled all of his luggage into a van.

His team sent our local agency a long list of demands and rules in anticipation of his arrival: Tyler wanted to be addressed/referred to as ‘Mr. Perry,’ we were prohibited to speak to him directly (only to his team), room temperature orange Gatorade had to be in his green room, furniture wasn’t allowed in his press interview suite, ALL media/press had to travel to him (Mr. Perry wouldn’t leave the hotel), and he wouldn’t wait for anyone. I helped out with the local press tour, but I kept my distance from him — his entire team seemed terrified of him.

#32

Pat Monahan is from my hometown in Pennsylvania, and whenever he visits, he pisses nearly everyone off. In high school, a friend of mine worked at Cold Stone Creamery, and the rule was whenever a customer tipped an employee, the employee was required to sing a song. Well, when Pat tipped them and they started singing, he told them to shut the f*ck up because they were annoying. He also said to the 15-year-old female employees that he was going to ‘buy the store and fire all of you c*nts.’ He ended up dropping his ice cream on the counter and stormed out.

#33

One time, my mom and little brother (who was 4 years old at the time) were walking through an airport — Larry King ran into my little brother and knocked him over, and just continued walking without stopping to say sorry. I was 6 years old at the time, so I don’t personally remember this, but my mom told me all about it.

#34

One day in the Hamptons, I ran into Alec Baldwin and his wife and their two dogs. I was 6, so I wanted to pet their dogs. Mind you, they left their dogs outside of the store, so I didn’t know they were theirs. They quickly yanked their dogs away from me and yelled at me. I was f*cking 6.

#35

Around 1998, Julia Roberts and Benajmin Bratt stole a cab from me and my girl on a really cold winter day in the West Village, NYC. They were laughing as they drove by, we both gave them a perfectly synchronized middle finger, which was fun.

#36

Busta Rhymes came into the jersey shop I managed in Atlanta and got pissed off that I didn’t have a hat in his size. He called me a dumb f*ck – which hurt because I was a huge fan of his going way back to Leaders of the New School.

Same store – Tyler Perry said he would “buy me and sell me” after I told him that the OnField 5950 Yankee hat was dark navy blue and not black – even though he demanded a “black Yankees hat like they wear on the field”.

Snoop Dogg, Michael Vick, Terrell Owens (esp Terrell Owens, and Birdman were cool as f*ck.

I was in Las Vegas’ airport on a layover. I was reading “Give Me the Damn Ball” by Keyshawn Johnson. I was 14 or 15 at the time. Behind me at the airport convince store? Keyshawn Johnson. 14 year old me is super excited. He just signed with the Cowboys and I was a huge Dallas fan. I quietly said “I’m a big fan, and I’m reading your book” from behind big sunglasses he looks at me and says “leave me the f*ck alone.”

I was crushed

In a moment of hate I screamed “It’s Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Keyshane Johnson” and walked away.

By contrast I watched a Packers/ Vikings game with Mike Ditka at JFK airport and he was awesome.

Neil deGrasse Tyson

I worked at the bookstore in college, and would pick up extra shifts working late night events when I had time. NDT was giving a speech, and holding a little meet and greet afterwards. I signed up to run a table selling his books.

After his speech, he comes in to the hall where I’ve got my table set up. He comes over, introduces himself, and asks which of the 2 books I liked better of his. 20 year old me has no idea who is he and didn’t read either book, so I replied “I actually haven’t read either. I’m just picking up an extra shift for the store”. Well then he starts a 2 minutes rant, berating people my age for not being interested in science, didn’t know who he was, blah blah blah. He finishes, I gave him a dumb blank stare, and he walked away. Talked down to me in a way that just made me feel like sh*t.

Tim Duncan – Former Basketball player for the San Antonio Spurs.

I met him at a Walgreens Pharmacy in San Antonio. I was trying to get batteries but he was getting batteries too. He was in my way.

So I said “excuse me, could I just get through really quick-”

He stopped me mind-sentence and said “Nah, I don’t take pictures. Just let me do what I gotta do.”

“My bad. I’m just trying to-“.

“Hey, look. I don’t want to take pictures right now so just stop.”

He left.

I got my batteries.

Peter Mayhew aka Chewbacca.

I accompanied my friend to a comic-con, who’s hobbies include getting autographs and photos of celebrities.

He was very short with us and didn’t care we were fans at all. He interrupts my friend in the middle of complimenting him for his work, stating the costs of a photo and an autograph.

Fine.

We ask if we can take a photo instead of one his photos he selling and he tells us we’ll still pay the full price of one of his photos.

Also fine.

As my friend goes to walk around the table to stand side by side, he shouts at us to stay on the other side of the table.

So we try our best to not look insulted, and take a super awkward picture of an annoyed Mayhew and my friend trying to lean back to make it look like they are posing for a fan pic.

We try to thank him right after but he brushes us off as soon as we hand him the cash.

D*ck.

In contrast, we met Margot Kidder aka Lois Lane. She was super nice and even let us take pictures pretending to be flying with her like in the movie! And it was her suggestion, too!

Chad Gray, singer of Mudvayne and Hellyeah. I was in an autograph line where you had to buy the album at the show to be in the line back in 2005, at the peak of Mudvayne’s success. This kid was in line in front of me, maybe 19 years old. He gets to his turn and says “hey man I’ve spent every free dime I have to see you guys when you’re in the area since before your first album. I don’t have much, but I love you guys so much, I saved all year to buy a festival ticket because of the meet and greet opportunity, it would make my dreams come true to take a picture with you guys” and takes out a sh*tty disposable camera. The rest of the band starts moving to take a picture when Chad tells him “no f*cking way” and directs security to confiscate the camera.

The year prior, a kid asked Cradle of Filth for a picture. The security guard moved in to confiscate the camera, and Dani stood up quickly, yelled at the guard to stop, and said “we tour this f*cking country once every two to three years and you’re going to tell a loyal fan who paid money to meet us that he can’t have a f*cking picture. You’re taking the picture now. And you’re going to take it enough times that we are sure he will have a perfect shot.”

Definitely polar opposite ways a band can handle the same situation.

#42

I was managing a sandwich shop in college near Nick Lachey’s home, and he and his (genuinely really nice) wife would come in from time to time. We’d usually comp his order since the entire shopping plaza would instantly show up and stack a line out the door and around the corner. But he never tipped us — he even elbowed his wife when she tried to — and he never looked at anyone or said hi to them the entire time he was at the restaurant.

#43

I was working security for MTV Beach House in the summer of 2002, where Ja Rule and a group of other people were upstairs in the green room of the beach house. The lifeguard station was converted into the green room, so it had a very small and tight winding staircase. The PA brought up a bottle of generic water to Ja Rule and crew, but it was the ‘wrong’ water. He yelled at the PA, and when he turned around to go get him the ‘right’ water, Ja kicked him in the back of the legs and he went down the stairs. I was stationed at the front of the house and heard yelling and a bit of commotion, then a flood of water bottles and a PA came rolling down the stairs.

#44

Chevy Chase. Saw him at a hotel and as a small 8-9 year old who liked the Vacation movies and asked for his autograph. He went off on me verbally and than when my dad came over he went off on him for something f*cked up like “not raising me right” or some sh*t. Dudes a straight a*shole mid level celebrity in the 80’s for a second.

#45

I’m a photographer, and one of my biggest events starting out was the opportunity to photograph the red carpet at Jingle Ball in 2014. I was 19 at the time, had severe health issues, and had also traveled seven hours from home to photograph the show. Among the chaos of a bunch of photographers packed in the area between the barricade and the stage, I had lost my phone and didn’t notice until we were back in the red carpet room. I immediately started to freak out, and I went into the hallway because I started having a panic attack. I didn’t realize that was the hallway the performers used to exit the room, and as I leaned against the wall crying, Demi Lovato walked out and proceeded to give me an extremely dirty look. They seemed disgusted and rolled their eyes as they walked by me, as if I was some devoted fan crying over them [instead of experiencing something traumatic].

#46

Once I met Mark Ronson at a music festival in the UK — my ex-boyfriend was a huge fan, so he asked for a picture. He was really cool and happy to be chatting with us, but there was someone standing next to him who repeatedly rolled her eyes at the two of us: Lily Allen. She continuously whined, ‘Mark, Mark, Mark’ while my ex was chatting with him — at one point she actually stomped her foot and gave us the finger when Mark’s back was turned around. We had acknowledged her, but she just rolled her eyes at us.

#47

Eric Roberts was a guest at a small, local comic convention. Thought it would be cool to get a signed pic of him as the Master.

He pretended people weren’t there until they paid his manager fifty bucks.

My wife’s parting shot as we walked away? “Loved your work on Celebrity Rehab.”

#48

Bo Jackson and Chili Davis wouldn’t sign my baseball when I was 8. There was nobody else around and they refused. F*ckin pricks.

#49

Bam Margera showed up in Seattle once to film an episode. Talked a lot of sh*t to the wrong local skater. I watched Bam get knocked out by said local. One of the funniest things I have ever seen.

#50

I met Miles Teller at a bar — he told my friend to buy him a drink, and he still refused to take a picture with him. He ended up smacking my phone out of my hand — I’ll never watch another movie with him in it again.

#51

Years ago, us kids waited for Jim Belushi and John Candy after they shot Only the Lonely in Chicago. I asked Belushi for an autograph, and he literally called us a bunch of pieces of sh*t, stupid kids, and to get the F out of there. Then came Candy with a big old smile and cigar hanging out of his mouth, and he spent the next 10 minutes signing autographs and thanking all his fans.

#52

I’m usually too inarticulate to talk to celebrities. I did stay in a hotel room next to Mark Wahlberg over 10 years ago. He and his friends (?) were extremely loud, and listed to 80s rock music all night and never slept. It wasn’t rude, exactly, just annoying.

Alec Baldwin held an elevator door for me once and was the only celeb I’ve encountered to acknowledge my existence, so he was the nicest by default.

#53

About ten years ago I worked for an airline and some flights were cancelled, due to weather. I got a call and this lady said, “I can’t believe this is happening to me. I’m a celebrity. My name is Tovah Feldshuh. I’m a celebrity.”

She literally said this 20 times. I got a manager on the line while she begrudgingly went on hold and relayed the info and that this was a celebrity. I stayed on the line while the manager had to explain that the flight’s cancellation was for everyone’s safety and nothing could be done about this.

She was so rude. After we got off the phone with her we looked her up and she was in a couple episodes of Law and Order, I think. She was recently on Walking Dead and I freaked out when I recognized her name in the opening credits.

Anytime she appeared on screen I had to say, “She’s a celebrity!!!! I can’t believe the zombie apocalypse is happening to her!!!! She’s a celebrity!!!!”

#54

Edward James Olmos. The dude that played Selena’s dad.

I was working at Disneyland, he comes up to my register and orders.

He was short and to the point, no pleasantries at all but I was used to that kind of treatment from guests. Most people just want to get their snack as soon as possible and go on their favorite ride.

But there was something on his receipt that he wasn’t happy with and he got angry with me. He used a gift card so the remaining balance was shown on his receipt.

He accused me of charging him more when that’s impossible to do with Disney’s POS system. Plus, I gave him his receipt so he could see I only charged him the items he ordered. I tried to explain that to him but he wouldn’t have it. He said he needed to talk to someone “higher” than me.

So I called my manager and it turned out that the missing balance he accused me of taking from his card was from the tip he gave to a restaurant he ate at on Disney property.

My manager gave him a full refund anyways. It was really frustrating because he was accusing me of being a thief but he got his way at the end. But that happens all the time at Disney.

#55

Billy West. I met him at a Comic-Con well over a decade ago. I was a teen and had just started watching Futurama, so I was gushing about his roles in that. He not only seemed uninterested, he said “hell no” when I asked for a picture.

On the flip side, literally a few hours later, Rosario Dawson made an effort to take a picture with me even though I was a minute late to her meet and greet. She even complimented the Spider-Man costume i was wearing that day.

#56

Steven Seagal.

I actually walked away from him mid conversation because he’s such a twat. I also watched him get laid out at a benefit we attended by a Mr. Travis Hailey. He also shot some of his Koi fish.

#57

Owen Wilson, met him at a nightclub when he was in town filming Shanghai Noon (or whatever the western one was). You’d think he’d be super chill, but he was a huge snob. And he let me (a 19yo girl) buy him drinks.

Funny anecdote, while I was talking to him my friend turned around to leave and walked straight into a glass wall instead of through the door in said glass wall. So his impression of us might have well been just as bad.

#58

Okay, so a quick disclaimer first – this wasn’t me, but my friend Dolly who was a flight attendant for a well known British airline until she died. She’d been with them since year dot, and as a result of her seniority would work in the First Class cabin. In her own words, she preferred it at the front of the plane, the nylon carpets at the back played havoc with her bunions..

ANYWAY,

One day she had a British “celebrity” called Katie Price onboard. Ms Price is famous for… umm.. having boobs and falling out of various bars, I think.

So, Ms Price comes on board, spots Dolly, and proceeds to spend five minutes listing her demands for the flight – namely that she should have total privacy, that anyone coming near her should be escorted away, that no crew approach her unless she calls them, and that Dolly herself would be held responsible if she was bothered at all, heads would roll, etc..

Dolly waited for her to finish her demands, and then said “Certainly madam. And you are…….?”

tl;dr No name “celebrity” makes OTT demands on plane, gets cut down to size by elderly Northern lady.

I’ve met Chris Martin from Coldplay. I’m not sure if he was having a bad day but he was really standoffish and cold. Not in a shy, introverted way but he was legitimately completely disinterested in talking to me or anyone around him trying to speak to him (this was at a VIP thing that some people payed hundreds of dollars for.)

I’ve also met Jeremy Irons and Mac DeMarco. Both of them were equally bubbly and friendly.

I once saw Michael Showalter on the street in San Francisco probably around 2009-2010 . I was a huge fan of the State and Wet Hot American Summer so I told him I was huge fan. He looked me dead in the eyes and said “who do you think you are, talking to me?”. I kinda laughed thinking he was doing a bit but he was dead serious and said “no, don’t laugh, I want to know why you feel like you can talk to me”. It wasn’t in a restaurant where he was with his family or anything, I really got the feeling he thought of himself better than anyone not famous. Ever since then I can’t stand anything he’s in or produces. Which sucks because he works a lot with one of the nicest celebrities I ever met –

Joe Lo Truglio who I forget where I met but he talked to me for maybe a half hour about comedy outside a store. Eventually his wife came out of the store and he introduced me to her, he remembered my name which doesn’t seem like it’d be a big deal but made me feel like a million bucks.

Idina Menzel was set to perform at the place I worked in college (very small venue of devoted fans – because let’s face it, who else would go see her). She came on three hours late and had very specific food items/demands for her green room and was extremely rude to everyone that worked at the facility. This is a huge facility and just one venue among larger ones that have hosted much more prominent acts/stars.

Pauly Shore was super rude to us, only grunted at us when we asked for an autograph. This was after his stand up show too, he was cool and on during the show, but when he came outside to us all waiting he was such a d*ck, acted over it, grunted a lot, never said hi or looked at us. We gave him a sharpie that clicked and he couldn’t figure it out and it pissed him off.

Brandon Marshall from the Broncos football team. Lots of famous people used to come to the gym I worked out at. All of them were nice except that dude. Only little kids playing pick up basketball wanted to talk to him and he was literally telling them to f*ck off.

I am sure it gets annoying but damn man you asked for the life when you became a f*cking NFL player. Not like everyone was bugging you.

Anyways I think someone told me he may be Bi-Polar. Which may be true, but he is still an as*hole.

I’ve heard Lauryn Hill is awful to work with. My bosses at a festival I did some work at have worked with her numerous times and apparently she never listens to venue rules, always has way too many people with her, and shows up late. Not to mention she’s apparently rude to staff.

I went to a meet and greet with the Kings rookies when Hassan Whiteside and Demarcus Cousins were rookies. I remember Hassan being an absolute a*s. Making fun of people, calling them fat and stupid and short. Complete d*ck. Demarcus (believe it or not) was really nice. He hung out with all the kids. He talked with me and my friend and called us smart and said we had a lot of Basketball knowledge. He even jokingly said I knew more than Coach Calipari. Hell, the guy was so nice, I went to a 49ers game, and he was there. He saw me and recognized me and said hi!But Hassan, literally came up to us and asked Demarcus why he was talking to us and said Me and my friend were stupid. He pissed Cousins off so much, he left and didn’t come back for an hour. He apologized but I could tell some sh*t was going down between Whiteside and Cousins

TL;DR Hassan Whiteside is an a*s, Demarcus Cousins is really nice.

I used to work in a studio that had pretty popular artists stopping in to work. The absolute worst was P Diddy, dude was a raging as*hole to me and every other person working. Any time I see his face I have to try and refrain from spitting on it

I was an extra on X men: Days of Future Past. They were all nice. Jennifer Lawrence was the one that was the more meh with other people. I don’t blame her too much… Peak hunger game popularity at the time I get it. She was probably afraid people would try to always give her too much attention…

However the other actors didn’t care about that. The NICEST ones by FAR were Hugh Jackman and James McAvoy for what I saw.

For McAvoy, one of my friend was one of the extras right behind him in a scene and we were shooting 14 hours a day in cooking 40 degrees enclosed green screen bordered set in bright sunlight. We were running in high heels and wearing winter jackets… Basically a hellish day. And we couldn’t sit anywhere! Well McAvoy saw my friend wasn’t doing right and he let her sit in Professor X’s chair and have a bit of his water bottle. And with that said, the dude would just talk and chit chat with everybody, despite the very strict non-conversation with actors contract we signed. He’s just so chill.

Hugh Jackman literally signed autographs in between shots and high fived a bunch of people all the time.

Michael Fassbender told all set workers passing by him after a very long day of work battling in water to have a nice day. I was a huge fan of his at the time and it made my whole year at that point.

F*ckin Peter Dinklage was dancing disco during the heatwave day to cheer people up.

My mom was a waitress in the Dallas area at the early days of wrestling when the WWE was still the WWF.

Wrestlers after a show would come to her restaurant and eat there cause it was close to the venue the performed at. She meet a lot of old school famous wrestlers before it was popular.

Apparently the Ultimate Warrior was a real as*hole who never tipped. Thats the only one she didn’t like.

#69

Dan Akroyd from The Blues Brothers. He had an extraordinarily high opinion of himself. I’ve met lots of actors, and some were nicer than others, but he was the only rude one.

#70

My sister was a cook at a nice resort in Canada — one time, Maria Bello’s assistant called in, saying she was coming with a bunch of guests and they wanted a certain type of bread served with their meal. So, the restaurant went out of their way to make her party this certain type of bread [off the menu], only to have them not show up. It was a huge waste of food.

#71

Van Morrison. He’s just a shouty rude man.

I tried to pick a fight with Sting once, about alternative medicine. Turns out he has a great sense of humour and we had a fun argument about it instead.

#72

Haven’t met too many celebrities but Leslie Jones was probably the rudest. She just kinda had this attitude of like, being annoyed at fans

#73

I used to be a bartender at a hotel, and Vivica A. Fox came in with a guy late one night after an event. He ordered a drink for himself and a house red for her, so I turned to her and asked if she preferred cab or merlot. She gave me the DIRTIEST look, like how dare I address her directly, and flounced off to a table without answering. The guy said, ‘Just give her red, whatever…’ and didn’t leave a tip (they ordered four rounds, and no tip each time). They also complained that someone else came in and sat at a table near them and tried to get me to make them move. The other guests didn’t even try to approach her or anything — she was just mad that they dared to sit at a neighboring table.

I won’t say he was rude but kinda weird. I was in Vegas to visit a friend of mine. However, I was always a huge fan of Penn and Teller. So I booked tickets to their show, and decided to do something real nice. I drew pictures of them and had them in frames and stuff. After the show they usually meet and greet the people while they are leaving. I ran into to Mr. Teller first since he was closer to my side. I believe he wasn’t in a good mood that day, honestly. He was so rushed that it was obvious he wanted to get the hell out of there. After I took a picture with him I showed him his gift. I kinda wanted to take picture of him holding it as a memory, I really was looking forward to it. He acted surprised for like two seconds, and then gave the gift to the bodyguard next to him and rushed things so I leave him alone lol. I went to penn, took picture with him, and handed him his gift. He was super super nice and humble, he even showed it to the people were standing. He then hand-shook me, I could’ve easily asked for a picture of him holding the drawing but I didn’t because I’m a perfectionist and would feel something is missing since I didn’t get a picture of Teller holding it. I’m still a big fan of both of them. I refuse to Judge Teller for that, although my friends strongly disagree with that since they were there and seen it all. The dude is old and there were few people and it must be exhausting to do his work, so it wasn’t a big deal for me. I still want to see their show again and meet them again, if possible. I admire people who bring joy to others, as this is what they are doing.

I took writing classes taught by Lidia Yuknavitch.

This woman is the walking stereotype of pretension. If you didn’t tow the radical left political party line as well, she would insult and make fun of you in class and try to get the other students to shame them.

If your stories weren’t balls deep in allegory and metaphor and acting as an allusion to something traumatic or political, then you were “just a scribbler.”

I don’t like her.

He’s barely a celebrity, but Billy Mitchell (former video game champion who recently lost his title because of cheating) was at an arcade expo a few years ago selling his hot sauce.

I was the only one at his booth, with cash in hand. He pointedly ignored me for several uncomfortable seconds, then just walked the hell away! At the time, I was angry and thought about stealing one of the hot sauces out of spite… but now I realize I had a very on-brand Billy Mitchell experience; this is a much better story than “he posed for a photo and signed a bottle of his hot sauce; seemed like a nice guy.”

#77

My brother worked at a very fancy ski resort hotel and celebrities came through there all the time. Kiefer Sutherland apparently was the biggest as*hole, but the funniest story I think is that Lars Ulrich used the fake name “Bruce Wayne.” I sort of imagine he wanted to look like he was being cool and discrete but he didn’t actually want to be discrete about his presence so he used the most suspicion provoking fake name.

#78

Sendhil Amithab Ramamurthy, the doctor from Heroes. He was not rude at all but he was kinda sketchy. He came into my store asking about international data plans. I didn’t recognize him and he slowly began to admit that he was an actor. He kept creeping around the subject like I was going to be a fanboy because he’s such a bigshot and I was going to tell all my paparazzi friends. I was like “neat”. But again, he was not rude in the slightest. He may have just been trying to be humble and I would respect that but it wasn’t really coming across that way. Quite the opposite.

#79

Kristen Stewart. I was waiting with friends outside of a pool hall for an uber when Kristen and her girlfriend come walking out of the building laughing all loud. We naturally glance over and move out of their way. Then she comes up to us and says “WHAT.” , with her arms out like shes ready to brawl. Then they walk away laughing again.

We didnt even realize who she was till they were walking away. She should really be careful who she talks to like that, someone might actually go for the punch.

I met jimmy Carr in Dublin on the street, he came out a shop door as I was walking by I said to friend is that jimmy Carr? Which he heard, he then took out his phone and pretended to talk to someone in a fake “leprechaun irish” accent and speed walked down the steeet
