63 “Universally Loved” Celebs People Say They Actually Can’t Stand At All

Spread the love

You can’t please everyone. Even if you’re selling out performances on the biggest stages and your movies are raking in hundreds of millions of dollars, there is always a person who is not a fan.

And this Reddit post proves it. Created by u/PythonButSnake, it asked other users, “Who is a universally loved celebrity who you don’t like?” Whether it’s the juicy subject, the security provided by the anonymous nature of the internet, or both, people shared plenty of names they despise — and the reasons why.

#1

Beyoncé. Everyone talks of her like a queen. Honestly my personal opinion is that her songs are s**t but that’s just me.
She’s talented, that’s a given, but the pedestal she’s put on is definetly undeserved.

#2

Rihanna.
She was aware her beauty line hired child labor to mine for mica in India and did nothing.
She promotes images of violence toward women and continues to stand by her abusive ex.
She scammed her own fans by adding a 49 dollar a month fee for “subscription” after any purchase.
She makes ridiculous demands including redecorating whole dressing rooms for one night performances
She bullied her 16 year old fan, wears head to toe fox fur all the time, is rude to the people who work for her.

#3

Meghan Markle.

She just lies and lies. Cried about racism cause her kid is brown and doesn’t get a title. Doesnt mention that since he isn’t directly in LINE for the throne that he doesn’t get a title. Cried that her family was in cahoots with the media when she would leak letters she would send to her father, lied that she didn’t “know her” her sister, who then produced photos and letters from her. Claimed she didn’t know anything about the royals, then her family leaked a photo of her in front of the Buckingham Palace and her old blog that was her obsessed with the royals. I also feel like the whole “Kate made me cry” was a lie and Kate went off on her for whining and b****ing about how uncomfortable royal life can be and trying to force things to go her way when you know…the damn institution is known for doing things THEIR way. I’m not saying she didn’t face racism, because she definitely did but she MILKED it. The fact that she’s trying to be the new Diana just infuriates me, I don’t believe her and I don’t feel sorry for her.

Oprah
I used to be indifferent but when I watched her Markle interview, she came across as so f**king fake.
Her voice. The way she puts herself on the cover of every issue of her magazine. Something about her feels fishy, forced, and narcissistic.

Jim Carrey

Everyone thinks of him as a lighthearted goof who makes funny faces on camera. It was a shock when I found out he’s so good at being a dumb**s on film because he’s a dumb**s in real life. He’s a deeply entrenched anti-vaxxer. Pre-COVID, he promoted misinformation about some childhood vaccines, incorrectly suggesting that they may cause autism. I’ve lost all respect for the man.

#6

Elon Musk. Crazy how many people think of him as “just like them” and as a “savior”. He’s no better than any of the other capitalist billionaires. And he doesn’t care about anybody but himself and his ego.

#7

Drake – How can anyone stand him? He is definitely a creeper on young girls.

#8

Billie Eilish. I don’t mind her music, some of it is on my playlist. But I’m annoyed that they tried to create this narrative of her and her brother being just two regular kids who made music in their bedroom and stumbled into fame. Her parents are both in show business. She didn’t stumble into fame. They have money, privelege, and connections that most “regular” kids do not have. She is talented. But I’d argue that if she were truly just a regular kid, we never would have heard of her.

#9

That Turkish beefsteak chef who sprinkles salt from high up along his arm. He has such an arrogant demeanor.
He opened a restaurant in London charging £5k-£10k 3 course meals. It closed down last month and has a 1 star rating on TripAdvisor.

#10

Jimmy Fallon can f**k off. Not funny. Not a good interviewer. Won’t shut up. Has to be the center of everything.
You can see his arrogance when he has a genuinely nice person on the show. There was a clip that went around a while ago of someone touching his hand as they answered a question, and the smile completely disappeared from his face like he’d just been farted on.

#11

Worker at a hotel where they were filming a movie and Zach Efron was there. Treated us like doormats and was completely belittling. Made a housekeeper cry. F**k that guy.

#12

Ariana Grande.
For me, it’s the fake voice Nickelodeon gave her that she still sticks to all the time. Plus she dresses like a grown-up child which has always been weird to me. I blame Dan Schneider honestly. Whatever he put her through definitely did a number on her.

#13

I can’t stand Mariah Carey. She is just too conceited for me. Yes I know that she has an amazing voice but still. She’s so over the top in love with her self that it’s annoying.

#14

Will Ferrell.
Annoys the s**t out of me. He plays essentially the same character in every movie and has no depth.

#15

Madonna. She hasn’t a classy bone in her body, she thinks she’s gorgeous but has the face of a flounder, and is the epitome of prima donna. A friend of mine went to see her in concert. She was two hours late coming on stage. What a puke.

#16

Kevin Hart.

Not only is he not funny, and most of his comedy is just being loud, but he cheated on his wife, while she was pregnant with his child. He’s obnoxious and I don’t get why people like him.

#17

Tom Hanks. The moment I found out he had his son kidnapped by those wilderness camp people I lost respect for him. That s**t is straight up child abuse.

#18

Vin Diesel.
He tried to “family shame” The Rock into being in the next Fast movie. Asked him in private he said no. Then he made this big Instagram post about how the Rock is like family to him and he’s like an uncle to his kids. The Rock told him to f**k off.

#19

Leonardo DiCaprio.

If you really fell in love a woman that’s half your age, fine. But if the only category of people that you are willing to date is women in their early twenties, even though you are almost 50 now, this really makes me doubt your character.

#20

Worked in a shop that Zoë Kravitz came into. She was an a**hole, snotty & pretentious.

#21

Will Smith.
People hate on his kids, but if you listen to how he talks to/about them, it’s a wonder they came out functioning at all.
That, and the constant articles about his and Jada’s sex life.

#22

Is Tyra Banks well liked? I hate her and how she treated the contestants on America’s Next Top Model.

#23

Paul Walker. He dated two different 16 year olds.

#24

Steve Irwin. He aggravated and stressed out animals for his show. He would intentionally do things to put him in danger for entertainment on his show. Guess what happened? He was f**king around with an otherwise peaceful animal and it felt threatened and lashed out and killed him.

#25

Scarlett Johansson is a mean person. Very mean. I have worked as a swe lead for one of her less popular movie studio. Went to set a few times to see things happen.

She was mean a rude.

#26

I pissed off Shaquille O’Neal one time when I was 18 and working at Target off I-95 back in, like, 2009 or 2010. He was looking for a cord to go from his phone to a TV in his tour bus. We unfortunately did not have one, and he got PISSED. Being only a 5’6″ dude, I was terrified. His friend/security guy with him had to calm him down. Me and a few other associates starting calling every store around us, trying to find one for him. He called me ‘Big Dave’ before I pissed him off, and I was too afraid to ask him for a picture or autograph after, LOL. I hated him for the longest time. I don’t hate him anymore, but I’m still not a huge fan. I still want an apology from him, LOL.

#27

Gal Gadot.

Her constant support of Israel is disgusting. Everyone keeps saying she’s like a ‘real life Wonder Woman’; I never read the comics but from what I know about Wonder Woman she wouldn’t support an apartheid state which regularly bombs innocent people, blockades them in, destroys their places of worship, and bulldozes and steals their homes.

#28

Has anyone said Lady Gaga yet? She just seems so over-the-top theatrical and her whole personality is a gimmick; like a kitschy roadside attraction in human form. She just rubs me the wrong way and I will die on this hill.

#29

Michael Jackson. Not sure if he ever actually abused any kids, but he did have an unhealthy obsession with children. I understand he had a crazy messed up childhood himself, but damn, be an adult.

#30

Terry Crews. Kissing the a** of the CCP during the Hong Kong crack down. People were being murdered and he was talking about how happy he is to be working with them.

He turned his back on his Gabrielle Union when she opened up about sexual harassment on the set. He didn’t believe her when she was one of the first to stand up for him when people were laughing about him getting sexually harassed.

Also he did that ridiculous ad for Amazon acting like it’s a super great and fun place to work. That was when I realized I didn’t like him.

#31

The Rock.
I actually enjoy The Rock as an actor, but his offscreen personality reeks of selling out. I think he realized he’s “The Guy” right now and can pretty much put his name on any product or movie and make a killing. Do I blame him? No, but it’s incredibly annoying and has made me like him much less

#32

While everyone seems to adore her, Maya Rudolph was pretty nasty to me when she came into my shop with her friends (family members? no idea).

And I want to add – for no reason. I was just a dumb kid who didn’t immediately recognize her and didn’t gush over diamonds, which seemed to offend her for some reason. This was a jewelry store, she was looking at every stone that was decidedly not a diamond, and I was trying to agree that other stones could be more beautiful and meaningful than diamonds. Apparently that was the wrong thing to say, and warranted going out of her way to make me look like an asshole in front of everyone. Great job, I was like 19. Sure learned a lesson from that.

#33

Eminem – He seems to have a very fragile ego… I mean, the guy made an album addressing all the hate he got for his previous album. Not saying he’s a bad MC/lyricist, just an overly sensitive dude.

#34

Taylor Swift. I’ve always gotten mean-girl vibes. Like it seems like she would say hi to you, but would make passive aggressive comments, like “Wow! I could never eat something like that” or “You’re so good at makeup, do you wear it because you need to?” I knew a girl that made those kind of backhanded comments all the time and TSwift just gives me the same vibe.

#35

Michael Jordan.

Met him a few times and he’s just an a**hole. Just because he’s the second best basketball player of all time behind LeBron but that doesn’t mean he can act the way he does.

#36

Jackie Chan is actually known to have several mistresses, illegitimate children, and is a complete sellout to the city that he started from (HK), courtesy of being a pawn of the CCP.

#37

Princess Diana. She was just as much a spoiled brat as her husband.

#38

Neil Degrasse Tyson. People herald him as a science educator, but I find him to be condescending and annoying. I’ve seen him make someone feel stupid for not knowing obscure s**t so many times.

#39

Arnold, the dude used steroids to get big, yet he is an inspiration? All I see is someone who took shortcuts to reach his goals. Goals which I might add are practically impossible to reach without the use of those drugs. He can stand there and preach his life story about how he worked hard to achieve great success. But, how can anyone preach when they’ve not been honest?

#40

Tobey Maguire.

As much as I loved his Spider-Man movies and some other movies he’s been in I’ve only ever heard he’s a pretty terrible person. Seems like he likes ridiculing people for his own pleasure. Supposedly if you’ve seen/read Molly’s Game, the character that Michael Cera plays is based on him in real life.

#41

Chris Pratt. Every time he gets criticised he plays victim and people eat that s**t up.

#42

Zooey Deschanel. I find her ‘gee golly I’m quirky’ personality to be off-putting. I also just frankly dislike her singing voice.

#43

Lizzo. Anyone who likes Chris Brown is trash.

#44

Zendaya.

Yes, she’s somewhat comedic and very beautiful. But there’s nothing that makes her stand out to me- she’s just a Disney star that recently became popular with an HBO show. Nothing special, her acting is normal, nothing spectacular as people say.

#45

John Legend. Can’t stand his face and I don’t get why people are obsessed with him. Also his singing isn’t that good. Just do not get the hype.

#46

Bill Gates, the dude is shady af, but everyone refuses to acknowledge that maybe he isn’t the second coming of Christ.

#47

Totally unrelated to his personal troubles which I wish him the best with, John Mulaney annoys the hell out of me. Smug, and as a stand up feels like he’s there more himself than for audience.

#48

Jennifer Lawrence. She’s “I’m not like other girls” in human form.

#49

Chip and Joanna Gaines. They have F**KED with housing decor and trends so bad. Everything looks the same now. I work in preservation and it’s depressing seeing the beauty torn out for the same garbage grey floors and grey walls and white lights, open floor concept , etc

#50

Adele. She is always f***ing screaming in every song. I cannot listen to her anymore.

#51

Harry Styles. Dude gives me the same really bad vibes that Joss Wheaton always gave me (before, you know, everything about him came out). Like he’s overcompensating being an ally to cover up his own f**ked up actions.

#52

Is Jimmie Walker universally loved? I can’t stand his new benefits commercials. Joe Namath too.

#53

Not trying to be mean or anything but Greta Thunberg just really get on my nerves because of everything she says makes no sense to me in the slightest about how it helps the environment.

#54

Paul Rudd annoys me.

#55

Tom Holland.
I think my problem with him isn’t so much he himself, but that the media pushes him so much. It’s either him, Zendaya or Timothee Chalamet. I have nothing against them as people, but I am SO tired of their faces being everywhere. Like stop. Please.

#56

Keanu Reeves.
I wouldn’t say that I ‘dont like’ him, by all accounts he seems to be a fantastic person.
Honestly though, he isn’t a particularly good actor at all. In some roles however his bland robotic style can add a little something.

#57

Robin Williams. I always found him to be very annoying.

#58

Ryan Reynolds. I find his whole vibe obnoxious. His smirk and attempt at humor. “Look at how normal my wife and I are. We’re just like you!” Everyone sees him as a down to earth guy, but it has always felt disingenuous to me.

His brand of humor is really annoying and unoriginal. Went to high school with several guys who were just like him and they made me want to shove kebab skewers into my ears.

#59

Jack Black. Not funny or likeable in any way.

#60

Lin-Manuel Miranda – I have zero reason to dislike him, and this is 100% a me thing, he just puts me off.

#61

Benedict Cumberbatch. My female friends had a huge crush on him in the Doctor Who and Sherlock era and I never understood why. He looks like f**king Sid from Ice Age.

#62

Freddie Mercury. I never cared for his rapid vibrato among other characteristics of him as a performer.

#63

Brendan Fraser. Everything he’s in would be better with someone else. Who? Just about anyone that’s not Brendan Fraser.
