The global lockdown has certainly changed our lives, but not necessarily for the worse—to some of us, it’s brought out the best of our creativity. One couple decided to use their creativity to express their love for their feline. Jake Lambert and Jessica Atkins created a small art gallery for their cat Richard Parker.

Three-year-old Richard Parker is currently housebound due to his unfortunate foot injury. Together with his family—stand-up comedian Jake Lambert and his girlfriend, senior veterinary nurse Jessica Atkins—the cat has been trapped in quarantine for more than two months. The quarantine was clearly too much for the little feline and seeing how bored Richard Parker was, the couple came up with the idea to cheer him up.

They created a personal, cat-sized gallery that he can visit and explore amazing artworks inspired by the most famous paintings in the world. “The cat couldn’t go out because he was injured, and we were bored because of lockdown, so my girlfriend came up with the idea to keep us all entertained. It clearly worked,” Jake Lambert told Bored Panda.

It took them around an hour in total to complete the project. The gallery features 11 paintings—including such classics as the Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci and works by Pablo Picasso and Claude Monet—all of them with some funny twists, as you can see cats in each of these paintings. Everything is thought out to the smallest detail as there is a rope barrier to keep the distance from the paintings and also small signs for the visitors—to not take photographs or eat and drink.
