Swans, one of the most gracious and elegant birds recently began a nesting season. These long-necked birds mate in winter and began laying their eggs at the end of April, which are then incubated for 32 to 45 days. While the female is tending the eggs, the male swan is responsible to keep an eye on intruders and predators. However, there are some predators that swans are often unable to defend themselves from–humans. Recently, the sad news came from a swan rehabilitation center, Swan Support, which rescues injured and ill swans within the Thames Valley of South East England. The organization had witnessed an increase of cruel attacks on swans in different areas of West Berkshire during the lockdown.
