Some people tend to look up to celebrities, thinking of them as being far more perfect than your average human being. However, stars are still very much human, with everyday flaws. Both in terms of behavior and in terms of looks.
The Celebface Instagram is dedicated to exposing what celebrities really look like by showing closeups of their faces. This way, you can see their imperfections without airbrushing or photoshopping getting in the way of ‘reality.’
So scroll down, upvote the pics that left an impression on you, and share this post with your friends. And if any of the pics shocked you into realizing that celebrities are very human as well, leave us a comment below. The anonymously-run Celebface page on Instagram has a massive 1.2 million followers. Apart from closeups of celebrity faces, the account also shows how the photos of stars are doctored to make them look thinner and more beautiful.
While some might scoff at people who pay a lot of attention to celebrities, the fact is, it’s a very human reaction to idolize someone and follow their every move.

According to Live Science, we are social creatures and we still exist in an environment where paying attention to what the people ‘at the top’ do is useful for surviving and thriving. That evolutionary response is now strengthened because we have non-stop access to the lives of stars via technology. So it’s harder to stop doing what we instinctively want to do.

According to evolutionary psychologist Daniel Kruger from the University of Michigan, humans, like primate species, keep an eye on ‘the dominant individuals’ in their groups for a couple of important reasons.
“One is just learning what high-status individuals do so you might more effectively become one, and two, it’s basically political. Knowing what is going on with high-status individuals, you’d be better able to navigate the social scene,” explained Kruger.
